Volunteering With Boyle Street Community Services
At Boyle Street Community Services, volunteering is both a challenging and rewarding experience. We offer a unique and diverse range of opportunities, with our many and constantly growing client-based programs. In September after the summer break we'll be looking for new volunteers.
WE'LL BE LOOKING FOR strong community ambassadors to help us build a healthy and vibrant inner-city community in Edmonton. We recognize that committed, compassionate, empathetic and reliable volunteers are integral in helping us reach a broader Edmonton audience in understanding and accepting the community that we serve.

All volunteers are required to fill out an application form, complete an interview, police criminal record check, intervention check, reference check and be matched in a program based on application approval.

Make a Donation - or organize a Third Party Event!
Boyle Street Community Services is one of the biggest inner city agencies in Edmonton, providing a wide range of unique services for the homeless and marginalized. We are grateful to all the organizations and private individuals who have provided and continue to provide their financial support. Your donations have an impact on the lives of many, many people who are living in poverty.
WHAT IS A THIRD PARTY EVENT?
It’s a unique and wonderful way to help us support those in need. Third Party Events are fundraisers organized independently by an outside (third) party with little Boyle Street staff involvement. It is a way that Individuals along with many different community groups, businesses can show their support by holding events or making corporate donations to Boyle Street Community Services.
If you, your company, your group or club is interested in helping raise funds for Boyle Street, there are many ways to do so … the only limit is your imagination. If you need a little inspiration here are some great ideas for fundraising events:
Event Ideas:
§ A-thons:
§ Walk, skip, read, bike, dance, knit, swim, bowl, skate, aerobics
§ Auctions:
§ Donated goods, furniture, hand made goods, quilts, services, catered meals
§ Galas:
§ Black tie dinner, concert, garden tour, homes tour, art show, performance of a play, BBQ beach party, boat cruise, costume dinner dance, dress rehearsal performance, food fair, gala premiere, dance, celebrity luncheon, talent show
§ Sporting Events and Tournaments:
§ Baseball game, football game, golf tournament, tennis tournament, fishing derby, pool/billiards/darts tournament, soccer tournament
§ Other Ideas:
§ Garage Sale, Bake Sale, Head Shaving, Loonie/Twoonie Drive, Car Wash/Pet Wash, Arts and Crafts sale/show, Carnival, Dinner Dance, Holiday Celebration, Theatre Event, Theme Party, “Grub”/ “Dress Down” Day, Raise a set $ amount to make your boss/principal do something: eg., dress up, make lunch for the team, etc.
All third party events must be approved by Boyle Street Community Services before the event can be promoted to the public and any use of our name or logo on printed materials.
