|JOB TITLE:||Manager of Drop-In and Inner City Recreation and Wellness Program

|HOURS:||Monday to Friday Hours to be determined based on program needs – 37.5 hours/week|
The Drop-In provides a safe, welcoming and comfortable space for all clients of Boyle Street Community Services to visit. Through the Drop-In, clients have access a variety of services, including meals, recreation, basic needs and harm reduction support, as well as a place for coffee and companionship. Through positive relationship building and strong community engagement, the Drop-In is a starting point for clients to discover encouragement and access referrals into other services that will help foster positive change in their lives.
The Manager will be responsible for supporting and directly supervising the Drop-In programming, including Drop-In support workers, as well as the volunteer, kitchen, winter and activities/events programs. The manager is also responsible for supervising the Inner City Recreation & Wellness Program. The manager is responsible to make sure all program mandates are met.
The Inner City Recreation & Wellness Program (ICRWP) is a joint initiative between Boyle Street Community Services and the Bissell Centre, offering community members a wide variety of activities and events to promote mental, emotional and physical health and wellbeing, as well as bridge barriers to social inclusion and community engagement. ICRWP is also a very important service that, while having loads of fun, also fosters relationships and paves paths to referrals and encouragement into other services.
This is a maternity leave cover position that is anticipated for 12-18 months in duration.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Primary management of the following teams and departments: Drop-In (including Winter Emergency Response), Volunteer Program, Food Services, ICRWP.
- Working in the Drop-in to support clients and staff directly.
- Providing direct management and monthly supervision and support to frontline staff of teams and departments.
- Building strong, healthy, happy and productive teams.
- Overseeing and/or preparing all required internal and funding related reports in a timely manner.
- Attending and representing Boyle Street Community Services at all appropriate internal and external meetings.
- Proactively scouting for funding opportunities as well as supporting the preparation of funding applications when required.
- Building strong external partnerships with colleagues in government and the non-profit sector and exploring ways to work together in concrete ways to benefit those we serve.
- Approving and overseeing of all expenses related to the teams and departments you manage.
- Exploring ways to expand our current services as well as opportunities to offer new services.
- Working with the Director of Programs and Finance to set and manage budgets on an annual basis.
- Briefing colleagues on internal and external emerging opportunities, issues, trends and learnings in your area of work.
- All other responsibilities as deemed reasonable and appropriate by the Director of Programs.
- Degree or equivalent. Candidates without a degree but with extensive relevant and related experience will also be considered.

- 3-5 years of Leadership or Management Experience within the non profit sector
- Knowledge and experience of Indigenous and multicultural communities is essential.
- An understanding of poverty and marginalization and of how and why it affects those we serve is essential.
